David Artell has told the club’s official website that ‘it is what it is’ with the news that Kayne Ramsay has been recalled by Southampton and looks likely to be loaned out to a club in Scotland.
Ramsay was scheduled to play against Charlton Athletic last night but Artell was informed by the player’s agent that he was going to be recalled by his parent club with a view to him going elsewhere.
Not for the first time this season, Artell had to rejig his starting XI at late notice and employed Mikael Mandron in the right wing back position. Mandron duly headed the winner in a 2-1 win.
Ramsay, 21, made 19 appearances for Crewe Alexandra. That figure could have been more but for an injury he sustained against Sunderland in October.
Ramsay has made two appearances for Southampton in the FA Premier League and a regular performer for the Saints in the EFL Trophy.
Artell told us: “I was at the Bolton v Wycombe game on Tuesday night and I received a call from Kayne’s agent that he was being recalled by Southampton and I’ve not heard from Kayne since.
“It is what it is and we move on.”
