Rio To Kick On His Rehab At St. George's Park

22 February 2022

Rio Adebisi is undergoing rehabilitation at St. George’s Park as the full-back steps up his return from an ankle injury. The 21-year-old has not featured since the final game of 2021 at Morecambe. Crewe won the game 2-1 to record a first away win of the season but Adebisi was forced off after 52 minutes and was replaced by Kayne Ramsay.

Adebisi was in a supportive boot for a number of weeks and David Artell entered the January transfer market in need of full-backs after also letting Callum McFadzean to move on to Wrexham.

The Croydon-born defender is expected to step up his training at St. George’s with the club now hopeful that he is only a few weeks away from resuming full training.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “Rio is going to spend some time at St. George’s. He will see a specialist there and it will help with his rehab. It could be a nice change of scenery for him for a week or two.

“He is another one who had an ankle injury and needed a boot but like Scott Kashket as well, they are both improving and Ben Knight is back at Manchester City doing his rehab but he is expected to be out on the grass soon, so that is also promising.”
