Boss delighted that loyal travelling Alex fans rewarded with away win

David Artell says he hopes the Alex supporters had a much better Monday heading into their place of work, college or school after a spirited performance from the Railwaymen saw us win 2-1 at Cheltenham at the weekend.

The win ended a poor run for Crewe and Artell was delighted that we finally got that win following some improved performances.

Following the win at the Jonny Rocks Stadium, the Alex boss said: “I am delighted for those fans who have come down here and supported us. They have been through a lot and I get it.

“I know it hasn’t been easy for them. I understand that they go into work on a Monday and their mate might be a Stoke or a Vale fan and they get it all day. I know my mates can be brutal as well!

“It is not nice but our fans understand their club more than possibly any other club because we have done it for so long. We know where we are and what we do and I am delighted that they can have a better week.”
