Striker expected to be available again for weekend trip to Cheltenham
Chris Porter missed last night’s 1-0 home defeat by Oxford United due to illness.
The Crewe Alexandra forward, who has scored four goals this season from 34 appearances, has been suffering with a stomach bug and wasn’t able to train on Monday.
He was replaced in the matchday squad by youngster Sean Lawton with his Youth Cup team-mate, Connor Salisbury coming on as a late substitute in the defeat by the U’s.
Crewe expect the veteran forward, 38, to return to training in the later part of the week and make himself available for this weekend’s trip to Cheltenham Town.
