David Artell says that the only way to turn around our current situation is to work as hard as ever and really believe we can put that neccessary run of wins together.

The Alex manager has recently stated that he only wants players in his starting XI, who believe that we can escape the bottom four and preserve our League One status.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Accrington Stanley, Artell told the club’s official website: “We have been in this situation before, in fact when I first took over the job, we were in a far worse position than this in League Two because the threat of dropping out of the league was there at that time.

“It was bleak and that was a tough time for everyone associated with the club, including the supporters but we managed to turn it around by working hard and having that belief. We had to show that we were good enough and we did that. It is my job to inspire that again.

He added: “We all know we should be doing a lot of better with the quality we have here and it is up to us to turn it round again by working as hard as we did then and making sure that the belief is there. We have to believe that we can get out of it and we will be doing everything we can do to give ourselves the best chance.”
