David Artell says his Crewe Alexandra side need to get on a consistent run of results and quickly if we are to escape the drop into League Two.
The Alex have 14 games remaining and Artell appreciates that Crewe will have to find some real form in those remaining matches if we are to claw back a nine point deficit and move out of the drop zone. The next target will be a home game against promotion hunting, Oxford United, this evening.
Ahead of the visit of the U’s, Artell told the club’s official website: “We need to get on a run and quickly. We know that. We appreciate that time is running out with 14 games left.
“We also know that it is in our own hands as well and until otherwise we will do everything we can to keep it that way. We have 8 home games left and if we could go out and win all eight then we would be fine. It isn’t going to work out that way and we know we have to try and get three points from all the remaining games.
“There is still that hope of turning the season around so we will keep working on everything we can to give ourselves the best chance.”
