Artell: "No-One Here Accepting Foregone Conclusions"

28 February 2022

David Artell says that no-one at the Football Club things ‘it’s a foregone conclusion’ that we will be relegated at the end of the current season after his Crewe side deservedly won 2-1 at Cheltenham Town at the weekend.

Goals from forwards, Chris Long and Chris Porter settled the game at the Jonny Rocks Stadium in Crewe’s favour and Artell says that his side will look to continue to improve to hopefully give us a chance of escaping the drop.

Crewe now have a free week to prepare for the visit of Wycombe Wanderers this weekend.

Artell told the club’s official website: “It was a thoroughly deserved victory and the players showed that they were playing for the cause and kept going to get the three points. That is what we will need in the remaining matches.

“I think that our recent performances should have warranted more than what we got. We certainly deserved something against Oxford and we have steadily improved with each game.

“There is no-one at the Football Club accepting any foregone conclusions that is for sure. We have to keep working hard to improve and get better and if we play as we did at Cheltenham and at home to Oxford then we have more chances of winning games and getting those wins and points we will need. That is the aim and we will see where that takes us.”
