Arthur Okonkwo up for Player of the Month award in November

5 December 2022

With back-to-back clean sheets and a number of vital saves in our victories over Colchester United and Swindon Town in November, Arthur Okonkwo has been nominated for Sky Bet League Two's Player of the Month award for November.

Omar Beckles (Leyton Orient) – central defender

A physical presence at the heart of the tightest defence in the EFL, Beckles had an influence at both ends in November with a clearance off the line at Harrogate followed by an assist and then a clinical volley in the victory at Stockport.

Andy Cook (Bradford City) – striker

Scored in each of Bradford’s three games to show his continuing importance to his side. As well as a penalty and a poacher’s finish, his goal at the end of a superb solo dribble at Mansfield showed he is more than just a target man.

Arthur Okonkwo (Crewe Alexandra) – goalkeeper

Clean sheets and Okonkwo’s agility have been key to Crewe’s recent revival. The 21-year-old Arsenal loanee produced a series of superb reaction saves in the win over Colchester and another vital stop as Alex won away at Swindon.

Billy Waters (Barrow) – striker

His four goals in three games may have been from a total distance of only 18 yards, but they showcased perfectly his predatory instincts, turning home loose balls in the box, including a brilliant volley on the turn in his hat-trick against Colchester.

ALL WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY 9 DECEMBER 2022

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
