Jackson | 'It’s disappointing that we didn’t come away with a win'

Crewe led 2-0 thanks to a goal each for Matus Holicek and Joel Tabiner either side of half time, but two late goals from Josh Thomas and Seb Dabrowski grabbed a point for the Swans.

Under-23 manager Michael Jackson was left pleased with his side's overall performance but admitted that tired legs and minds let Swansea City back into the game.

He said: “It’s disappointing, they worked their socks off all afternoon to get into a position where you think we look relatively comfortable and then a lapse of concentration meant we got punished.

“I think at all levels they're trying to get that game understanding and seeing games out is important.

“When you’re tired and under the cosh a little bit then them types of goals can happen. It’s now about watching the game back and recognising where we can improve on the mistakes we made.”

Joel Tabiner contributed to his sides performance with a goal and assist and Jackson was full of praise for the youngster, he said: “I thought he was excellent, his work ethic was outstanding and showed real quality at times and that’s something we’ve been asking from him.”

The boss also provided us with an update on Connor Evans and Khanya Leshabela’s who were both brought off as planned.

The Under-23 manager said: “Connor has obviously been out for a long time with an ACL injury and ideally he was going to play 45 minutes, but the numbers suggested he had done enough and it’s important to gradually reintroduce him to game time.

“Khanya (Leshabela) played 30 or so minutes on Saturday and that’s the reason for him coming off after an hour.”
