Morris: "New Appointments Will Look At Recruitment Drive From A Different Angle"

27 April 2022

Alex Morris says that the recent appointments of Josh Kennard and Glyn Chamberlain as part of the club’s new recruitment strategy was imperative to make sure we get ‘more signings right rather than wrong.’

Morris says that the summer recruitment is vitally important if Crewe want to be competitive at the top end of League Two next season.

Josh joins as Head of Recruitment and Glyn as Recruitment Consultant.

The interim boss told the club’s official website: “Recruit is going to be huge for us this summer and moving forward and it was absolutely vital that we got some help with that to make sure we get more right than wrong.

“Glyn has been at the club before and brings with him a wealth of experience. He left us and went to work for three or four Championship clubs, big clubs, so we know what he can bring us. He has a lot of contacts in the game and will be our ears and eyes out on the ground. He will be invaluable for us, out watching games and players.

“Josh is younger and very keen to add his expertise to what we already have in place. He has worked at Millwall and brings that data analysis of players that is becoming more and more of the modern way.

“Whatever happens with the management structure going forward, there will be more of a strategy in place to make sure we are best placed to bring in good players during the summer and in the long-term. Having these two new appointments will allow us to see things from different angles and their expertise will only be good for the club.”
