Bell: "We Want Those High-Energy Performances"

22 April 2022

Interim assistant manager, Lee Bell, says that the staff are looking for another high energy performance against this weekend’s opponents Ipswich Town.

Bell was pleased with the response of the Crewe players in turning around a 1-0 half-time deficit in our last home game against AFC Wimbledon and he is after more of the same against the Tractor Boys.

Bell was pleased with the way the team stood up to in-form Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening, only conceding to a second half penalty, but he wants us to be more on the front foot in our final home game of a disappointing season.

Ahead of the visit of Ipswich this weekend, Bell said: "Of course, we want to be more on the front foot at home. I said to the players after the midweek game that they were like caged animals and there is so much to come from them in terms of what they can show with a football.

“It's just getting that little bit of confidence to do it and we are looking forward to seeing that on Saturday.

"We want high-energy performances, particularly at home, and we want to be aggressive at what we're doing and get shots away and put crosses into the box.

Bell added: "The fans have been brilliant and last week they were right behind us. But we can't just expect that as we have to put on a performance."
