Chairman Charles Grant says that the interim appointment of Alex Morris and Lee Bell in the most senior roles will have the desired impact around the Football Club.

Grant believes that the change will have the positive influence needed to lift morale and put into place a new approach heading into next season.

The chairman feels that we have the right people in the right positions to arrest the current decline we find ourselves in.

The Chairman told the club’s official website: “Our job as a board and mine as chairman is to give Alex, Lee and Kenny all the support we can. That was the same when David (Artell) was manager and let’s not forget that he had to be persuaded to take the job in the first place and had only coached at Academy level.

“We want Alex to address issues with the team and we want them to plan for moving forward. That means being fully involved in the recruitment process and finding players that will greatly improve us. We all know that recruitment over the last 18 months has been poor.

“It is my role to support the staff and provide as many of the tools we can to help them be successful. We are all fans. We are all local and we all want success for this Football Club.

“Alex, Lee and Kenny have been here a hell of a long time and they know this club better than anyone. They know what is expected and what the standards are and this is an opportunity for them.

Charles added: “The mood has been affected with what has happened this season and we want them to change it. We have four games left and we want to take something positive into the close season. “
