Alex Morris’ side fall to defeat in Wales despite going ahead early on.
Joe Robbins and Connor Salisbury were on the scoresheet for the Alex Morris' side whilst our final signing of the summer Madger Gomes completed around 60 minutes in preparation for tomorrow night’s Sky Bet League One tie with Morecambe.
The young Railwaymen found themselves take an early lead after Robbins stole the ball back on the edge of Swansea’s penalty area before curling his effort into the bottom corner.
Our lead didn’t last long after Dylan Morgan took advantage of a mistake at the back to level the scores with just five minutes gone on the clock.
Under-21 Welshman Billy Sass-Davies almost put us ahead once again with a powerful header from a corner but the Swansea ‘keeper was alert to deny the defender.
Before the first half came to a close, Swansea were the more clinical of the two sides, slotting home their second and third of the game through Joe Cotterill and Tarrell Whittaker.
As planned, Gomes was replaced after completing his first 60 minutes for the Alex.
As Alex Morris watched on from the side-line looking for a response from his squad, the opportunity arose for Salisbury on 63 minutes who had space inside the box to reduce the deficit.
More and more chances arrived for the Railwaymen, but they couldn’t make them count. They were punished when pushing forward for an equaliser as Lincoln McFayden fired in a fourth for the hosts late into stoppage time.
The Alex will return to Professional Development League action on Wednesday 29 September where they will face Wigan Athletic at Alexandra Park.
