Gaffer hails on-loan Celtic starlet's league debut for the Alex.
On-loan midfielder Scott Robertson has been hailed ‘as the best player on the pitch’ by his manager after his contribution against Shrewsbury. The Celtic youngster received lengthy treatment on the pitch after being on the receiving end of an accidental smash in the face. The 19-year-old will need dental treatment after suffering a hefty blow to his front teeth.
He shook off the incident to put in a superb display on his league debut for the club and Artell believes that the midfielder was the pick of the bunch for us on the day.
Artell told the club’s official website: “I thought that Scott Robertson was the best player on the pitch. He was terrific.
“The incident was not intentional and the referee really should have stopped the play. That is what we were unhappy about because he took too long to stop the game because it was obvious that Scott was injured.
“He has two loose front teeth, so we keep saying that he now looks like a proper Glaswegian but he has been in this league enough with other loans to know what to expect.
“He is a tough lad. I spoke to one of their players after the game and he was telling me how strong he thought Scott was and not just because he had his teeth virtually knocked out either!
“He was impressed with his performance and so were we.”
