Robertson: "I Want To Bring That Winning Mentality From Celtic With Me"

2 September 2021

Crewe Alexandra’s new loan signing Scott Robertson wants to establish himself as a regular in David Artell’s starting XI.

Robertson, 20, started the Papa John’s Trophy tie against Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday and whilst he performed admirably on his debut for the club, the on-loan Celtic youngster was still critical of the start he made to the game.

Robertson told the club’s official website: “I actually thought I was a bit sloppy with my passing early on. I am normally cleaner with my passing and that is one of my strengths but I know that will come with the more games I get. It was just to be back out and playing.

“It was nice to start with a win and a clean-sheet and that will help build some confidence that we can take into our schedule of games.

“I spoke to the manager and we wants me to get on the ball, and pass the ball. He wants me to add goals to my game and I know I need to improve that side of things, but as a midfielder that is all you can ask. I am sure the fact that Crewe pass the ball with only suit.

“It has been a great upbringing at Celtic and it is all about winning and being successful at a club of that size. I want to bring that winning mentality with me onto the pitch and play as many games as I can.

He added: “It was a bit stop, start for me last season so hopefully I can come here and get a more regular spot and get my games up.”
