New signings, Scott Kashket, J’Neil Bennett and Scott Robertson have certainly made an impressive start to their Crewe Alexandra careers. The Alex trio certainly enhanced our threat in the final third of the pitch at Shrewsbury Town at the weekend.
David Artell’s side collected a point from the New Meadow at the weekend and were a bit unfortunate not to have recorded that first league win of the campaign after shading the better of the possession and chances.
On the new boys, Artell said: “I thought as debuts go, Scott (Kashket) and J’Neil (Bennett) were good. They worked their socks off and had chances. J’Neil had three good chances and Scott blasted one over the bar in the second half.
“There was certainly more goalmouth action and they played their part in that. I also thought Scott (Robertson) was really good. He left his front teeth somewhere on the pitch and he covered a lot of ground for us in there.
“The new players have been good since they came into the club and there is more to come from them.
He added: “With Owen Dale moving on, we lost a bit of pace but we feel we have replaced that and him with better players and that is always the challenge when someone goes.”
