On signing for the club on loan initially until January, the Tottenham winger J’Neil Bennett says he is looking forward to entertaining the Alex supporters with his performances.
The 19-year-old, who has been capped by England at Under-18 level, signed for the club after a short stay with Crewe in the summer.
Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has praised Tottenham’s smooth involvement in allowing the Spurs winger to join us.
Artell told the club’s official website: “Tottenham were really accommodating and let J’Neil come up for a week, so we could have a look at him and he could have a look at us.
“We worked really closely with Tottenham and they were terrific. It worked out really well and J’Neil got to know the lads and to see what we were about. I cannot praise Tottenham or J’Neil enough.
“He must have enjoyed his time up here with us and he scored a fantastic goal in pre-season and he was always in our thoughts after the way he played and trained.
“Now he is still a young boy and he is out on his first loan but I am really excited to see him play in a competitive game for us. He is an exciting player and a good addition to the squad.”
