Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell and his staff will go through the clips of our home defeat to Morecambe on Tuesday evening and address the mistakes that cost us the game.
Crewe ended up losing 3-1 after conceding two goals to crosses inside the first half an hour and although we rallied and found a lifeline through Mikael Mandron’s third goal of the season, Morecambe broke away with five minutes remaining to seal a deserved three points.
Artell told the club’s official website: “We will go through the video together and then go out and work on it. Then we will put the work in to prepare for Rotherham on Saturday.
“We have to be at our levels. I think Morecambe get a bad rap, a bit like us. People seem to think that we should beat Morecambe and I am sure it is the same when little old Crewe go somewhere in this division but football isn’t like that.
“Morecambe won promotion and are here on merit, as we are. We didn’t beat them and we will reflect on why that was. We will go through things to find out why things happened on the night and show them, so we can avoid it happening again.
“That is the process and we do that if we win well or play poorly and lose.
“I think on Tuesday, we actually started the game well until they scored after 8 minutes or whatever it was. Then we stopped defending properly for 20 minutes and that ultimately cost us the game.”
