Gaffer pleased with the ones he has been able to bring in to bolster his squad.
Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that most players who sign for the club are pleasantly surprised but he admits that is can be tough attracting to them in the first place due to various reasons.
Financial implications always play a part and so does the club’s stance on not paying agents fees but Artell believes that once ‘they make the plunge’ to join us, they settle in quickly.
The Alex manager managed to bring in another four new faces ahead of the deadline closing and he is pleased with the calibre of player he has been able to bring in to bolster his options.
Artell told the club’s official website: “I am excited to see how our squad does. We have some good young players in the team, we have some coming through and starting their own journeys and we have some more senior players with a wealth of experience. The mix is good.
“Now we have to have get the belief into them to make sure we have a successful season. It is a new squad and we have new players, so it may take a bit of time but we have to start scoring some goals and win some football matches.
“It can be tough trying to get players in. We know where we are with that but when the players do come and make that plunge, I think they soon think they have made a good decision.
“Some don’t want to come for various reasons but the ones we do attract, see the facilities, understand the philosophy of the club and know that we have good people here, who treat them properly.
He added: “They know they will get a chance to be coached and improve as a player here and we are pleased with the group we have.”
