'Ainley Expected To Be Sidelined For Up To Two Months'

30 September 2021

Attacking  midfielder suffers hamstring injury but not as serious as last season.

Callum Ainley is expected to be side lined for up to two months after suffering a hamstring injury in our 1-1 draw with Rotherham United on Saturday.

A scan revealed that the injury is not a reoccurrence of the injury he suffered last season in last season’s FA Cup tie at Cheltenham Town back in November. The injury is deemed not as serious that interrupted his last campaign and limited him to 28 appearances.

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell told the club’s official website: “Callum is going to be out for between one to two months. It depends on his recovery, but it is not as bad as last season.

“It is disappointing for him and for us but we have to be careful with him and make sure he comes back stronger, like he did last season.”
