Crewe Alexandra’s forward Tyreece Onyeka will be joining Northern Premier League side Matlock Town on an initial one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old impressed briefly in pre-season before sustaining an ankle injury in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ under-23 side.

After signing a professional contract with the Alex in 2020, this is the perfect opportunity for the tricky forward to gain some first-team experience in men’s football with the Gladiators.

Tyreece will be available for Matlock’s game tomorrow against FC United of Manchester.
