Boss: "We Have Made Progress Away And That Has To Come At Home"

27 October 2021

Boss says being at home means there will be more of an onus on us to play more football.

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell is hoping to take advantage of two upcoming home games against MK Dons on Saturday and then against Doncaster Rovers in our re-arranged fixture on the Tuesday evening.

Crewe will be aiming to end a run of three successive defeats after a promising run of one defeat from eight and Artell and his players are still striving for that real consistency to move away from the relegation zone heading into the busy Christmas period.

Artell told the club’s official website: “It is always our aim to win games and to pick up points regardless if we are at home or away. I actually think we have made more progress with our away performances than at home, so that is something we have to improve upon. Our home form has not been consistent enough when it has been one of our major strengths over the last few years.

“The home form is going to be important to us, so we have to get back to being something like we were. We have to keep on progressing and being at home means the onus will be on us to play more football.

He added: “They are all tough games in League One and I am not sure if there is a major advantage playing at home to away, but we will have our fans with us and they can make that difference. It should be a footballing game against MK Dons at the weekend and one we can look forward to.”
