Artell: "Fleetwood Is Aways A Tough Nut To Crack"

15 October 2021

Crewe Alexandra are targeting our first away win of the season in the league at Fleetwood Town this weekend and David Artell says a repeat of our 2-0 win at the Highbury Stadium back in April would be the perfect start to improving our away results.

Crewe have obtained fantastic away points at Rotherham and table toppers Plymouth Argyle and Artell is hoping that level of performance continues with a touch more bravery on the ball. Crewe have played in patches during those promising away displays but Artell said in their aftermath but he wants his side to control games for longer.

Artell told the club’s official website: “All games are tough, especially away from home and Fleetwood will be no different.

“We have had decent away performances at Rotherham and Plymouth and managed come away with two draws so we are certainly not fearful of going away from home and performing.

“We have got to start winning games both at home and away but also on the other hand not lose the game.

“Fleetwood are a tough nut to crack and whatever formation we play or whoever plays, we have to go there and give a good amount of ourselves. We will have to match them and try and control the game for longer.

He added: “We have become more consistent in-game and that has to continue. We have got to perform to the level that will get us the win.”
