Callum: "It's Another Game For Us To Go Out And Put Things Right"

18 October 2021

Former Black Cat, Callum McFadzean, says that the fanatical Sunderland supporters along with a supportive home crowd at the Mornflake Stadium should make for a tremendous atmosphere under the lights this evening.

The Alex left back made 35 appearances last season for Sunderland and started at Wembley as the club lifted the Football League Trophy. McFadzean appreciates the passion the Sunderland support have for the club but he is hoping he can help Crewe get one over on his former club to kick start our indifferent start to the new campaign.

Callum told crewealex.net: “The Sunderland fans come out in their thousands and we you can see how much the club means to them and the area. They love the club and it is a massive club and the expectation is always there.

“I’m sure they will sell their allocation of tickets or be close to it and it should be a great atmosphere to play in.

“It is eleven versus 11 and we have to play to our potential if we want to get anything from the game. We have to start showing that we are capable of getting wins on a more regular basis. There is no point just saying it, we have to start showing it.

“We have to really dig in and keep going. No-one wanted the start we have made to the season and we have to keep working hard to turn things around.

Callum added: “It is another game to put things right and we have to raise our standard from what we showed on Saturday.”
