MK Dons' Style Of Play Won't Change Under Head Coach Manning

27 October 2021

Boss on MK Dons visit this weekend.

David Artell says that the philosophy of playing a possession-based game will not change at MK Dons with the appointment of their most recent head coach, Liam Manning.

The 36-year-old has developed his coaching career in youth football with the likes of Ipswich and West Ham before enjoying a spell as Academy director with New York City and in Belgium with Lommel.

MK Dons will arrive in South Cheshire this weekend looking to bounce back themselves after suffering a home defeat to Rotherham last weekend and Artell is expecting another football match against one of the division’s most attractive sides.

Artell told the club’s official website: “MK Dons style has not change dramatically from when Russell (Martin) was in charge. The philosophy of the club is the same and it has continued under Liam. They always try and play the right way.

“He has added his own little bits and it has changed slightly but there has certainly been no overhaul. They will come and play football.

“We managed to beat them twice last season by playing the better football. That will be the aim again this weekend. It will be another tough game and we know that our home form has to improve.”
