Ben Knight Improving But Will Not Be Rushed Back Into Action

1 October 2021

On-loan Manchester City winger will not be rushed back after ankle injury.

The club’s on-loan winger, Ben Knight, will not be rushed back into action after suffering an ankle injury last month. The Manchester City youngster scored his first senior goal to win the game in injury time at Shrewsbury in the Papa John’s Trophy but suffered an untimely injury just as he was beginning to find his feet at first-team level.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “We will not be rushing Ben back. He has got to be right and much will depend on when he is ready to run again. He is now out of his supportive boot and he will just carry on with his rehab until the physio and sports scientist say he is ready to re-join us.

“It is a shame that the injury came when it did. He was finding his feet at this level and scored a great goal at Shrewsbury to win us the game. He is disappointed not to be playing but that happens in football and we will be cautious with him because he is still young and we will get there with him.”
