Ben Knight returned to light training yesterday and manager David Artell is hoping that the on-loan Manchester City winger will be fit and available for selection again in around two weeks.

Knight originally suffered an ankle injury against Leeds United in the League Cup but battled on to appear and score against Shrewsbury in the Papa John’s Trophy.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “Ben trained yesterday. It wasn’t full contact but he is fine and we will see how he is for the rest of this week and next week.

“We will step it up with him but it will be good to have him available when he is ready.

“Callum (Ainley) is a bit further away. He has had no set-backs and he is coming along nicely. He is a few weeks off yet but he is progressing well.”
