Artell: "We Cannot Give Ourselves Too Much Work To Do"

28 October 2021

David Artell has told the club’s official website that it is important that ‘we don’t lose too much ground’ in our quest to move up the League One table.

The Alex boss, his staff and players firmly believe that results will begin to turn once the foundation of the work with a new group of players has clicked.

Crewe had to deal with the loss of five key players in a short space of time and midfielder Tom Lowery has only recently returned to the first-team picture after his on-going contract situation.

Lowery duly scored our goal against Wycombe Wanderers last weekend.

Artell told crewealex.net: “It is important to get points if you are top, middle or bottom. That has always been the case regardless of what league you play in.

“They are all tough games and that doesn’t change either. We want to pick up some wins to make sure we are more competitive. We had a lot of upheaval over the summer and going into the season and the aim is to make sure that we don’t give ourselves too much work to do.

“We know that the work we are putting in and the development that is happening with this new team will see us rewarded in the end and we just have to keep on working hard and carrying that belief.”
