Lunt: "Best Remedy Is To Go And Get A Result On Sunday"

26 November 2021

Club's assistant manager targets a bounceback against Ipswich this weekend.

Kenny Lunt says that the best reaction to what turned out to be a frustrating night in the captial on Tuesday, would be a positive result at Ipswich Town this weekend.

Crewe were beaten 3-2 at Plough Lane, scoring two really well-crafted goals but conceding three ‘soft ones’ from a defensive point of view.

Lunt was left frustrated by the cheap conceding of the three goals and it dented our momentum gathered by our 2-0 home win over Gillingham just days before.

The Club’s Assistant Manager told us: “We need to put a run of results together and we were all disappointed not to have got something from Wimbledon. To score two goals away from home, you should be collecting a point at least, so to lose it, and the manner in which we conceded the goals was frustrating.

“We really wanted to kick on from the result and performance against Gillingham and get ourselves going on a run of results but it didn’t quite happen for us at Wimbledon and now we have to move on and look about starting again at Ipswich on Sunday.

“I don’t think anyone can criticise the players for their work ethic. They are all working hard and they kept going at Wimbledon to try and stay in the game and get something.

“They are all trying. Maybe their decision making on the ball could be better at times and we spoke about that but it’s a good group and they are good to work with. They all want to improve and get better and that gives us a chance.”
