Crewe Alexandra will be without right backs, Kayne Ramsay and Travis Johnson for a number of weeks through injury. Ramsay has not featured since suffering a late injury against Sunderland and Johnson was suffered an ankle ligament injury in training which will rule him out for weeks.

Ramsay has an issue with the lateral malleolus muscle that lies between the tibia and fibula of the leg and is currently in a supportive boot. It is thought that the on-loan Southampton defender will be out for between 6-8 weeks.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “Kayne is currently in a boot and he will be out for a while. I am not totally sure when he will be back but he won’t be returning any time soon.

“It is the muscle between his tibia and fibula and he has twisted and suffered a tear late on against Sunderland.

“Travis’ occurred quite innocently in training after a contact but he has also been in a boot after suffering ligament damage.”
