Crewe Alexandra defender Luke Offord will miss tomorrow night’s game at Wimbledon after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season.

Offord was booked for kicking the ball away during the second half of our 2-0 win over Gillingham and will now not travel to the capital.

His absence will open the door for someone to take his opportunity.

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell told the club’s official website: “Luke got another silly yellow card and that is five now, so he will have to sit this one out.

“He has to stop picking up silly bookings.

“Now it is an opportunity for someone to come in and take his place. If they come in and do well then he could lose his place and that is why he has to learn from those mistakes. Luke being out opens the door for someone else and we will see how he does.”
