Alex midfielder Tom Lowery says that this weekend’s home game against Gillingham is a massive one for the club and that we ‘have got to be thinking only about three points’.
Lowery, who is now back in the first team picture after an on-going stand-off over his contract, says that the supporters are entitled to vent their frustration after the poor start we have made to the league season and that it is up to the players to turn it around.
Lowery told the club’s official website: “It is another massive game for us and we have simply got to be thinking about the three points. It is a must win game for us and we will be working hard to make sure we get them.
“It is been nowhere good enough from us this season and the fans have every right to vent their frustration because it hasn’t been good enough. It is up to us to put that right.
“The support has been great for us. We had 900 or so at Bolton on a Friday night and they were brilliant. We need that every game and we were all grateful for that support.
He added: “We have got to turn it around and that has to start on Saturday from our point of view. There is no getting away with that because we need to start winning games as quickly as possible to give ourselves a chance.”
