Kenny: "Cook Will Get Ipswich Firing Again But We Want The Points"

27 November 2021

Lunt previews Ipswich challenge this weekend.

Kenny Lunt says it is always a challenge to lock horns with the vastly experienced Paul Cook. The former Wigan, Portsmouth, Accrington Stanley and Chesterfield manager is now changing the fortunes around at Ipswich Town.

Following a summer overhaul of players and personnel, Ipswich made a tough start under Cook, but the 54-year-old has pushed them to 13th and eyeing a play-off place.

The club’s assistant manager told the club’s official website: “Paul is a great guy and a great manager. He has great experience and it is always tough against his teams. He is someone we know well and it will be good to see him but we want the three points, like he will.

“He has gone in there and changed the personnel. He has had to build virtually a new squad and that takes time. They are going to be fine with him there and he has assembled a good group but hopefully we can halt their progress on Sunday.”
