Crewe Alexandra defender Callum McFadzean will undergo a scan on his injured ankle.

The former Sheffield United, Plymouth and Sunderland defender suffered the injury away at AFC Wimbledon and has been receiving intensive treatment since but with no signs of major improvement the 27-year-old will undergo a scan this afternoon to assess the extent of the damage.

The Sheffield-born left-back has been battling it out for a place in David Artell’s starting line-up with the likes of Rio Adebisi.

McFadzean who joined the club in the summer from Sunderland has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season.
