Sass-Davies: "We Head To The Captial Full Of Confidence"

23 November 2021

Defender Billy Sass-Davies says that Saturday’s much overdue league win over Gillingham has injected some more confidence into the Crewe dressing room just in time for tonight’s clash at AFC Wimbledon.

The Railwaymen will be aiming for back-to-back league wins at Plough Lane this season and if we can accomplish that feat, it would be a tremendous boost heading into the busy festive period.

Sass-Davies, who was immense against Gillingham’s John Akinde at the weekend, says the Alex dressing room cannot wait for our clash in the capital against the Dons.

Bill told the club’s official website: “It was a brilliant weekend. To finally get that win and play like we did was a massive result for us. Everyone had to dig in at times to make sure we got the result.

“It has been a tough time and it is difficult when you are in a rut like we were but the win and the performance has given us a massive confident boost and we want to take that into the Wimbledon game.

“The three points we got on Saturday were massive for us and now we want to build on that and string some results together. We will have to work as hard as we did on Saturday for it and we know that Wimbledon are a good side and they like to play football. It should be a good football match and we are all looking forward to it.

Bill added: “I think everyone is a lot more confident after Saturday and if we can follow that up with another positive result in a week then that would be massive for us. We will go into the game looking to get the three points and carry that good feeling on.”
