Artell: "All Games Are Must Win In My Book"

1 November 2021

Some will dub tonight's game a 'six-pointer' but Artell says that the objective is to win every game possible regardless of league standing.

David Artell says that all games are big games in professional football and there is something riding on all matches in terms of points, league positions and careers.

The Alex host fellow strugglers Doncaster Rovers this evening and the Alex are in need of some league points to stay in touch with those above us. A win would see us off the bottom on goal difference ahead of Doncaster. The Alex are currently seven points adrift of safety and need to remain in touch as we entered the second phase of the season.

Ahead of tonight’s encounter at the Mornflake Stadium, the Alex boss said: “There is always something to play for. They are all big games in my book. It doesn’t matter if you are 12th because you will be thinking three more points takes us closer to the play-offs.

“There is something riding on every game. People can call this one a must win if they need to but they are all must win in my mind. We always go out to try and win. That is the name of the game and it will be another test.

“Doncaster are in a similar position to us, so they will be thinking they need the points as well, so we will have to play to our level or they will come and do a job on us.

“We have good players here, who can do it in League One week in week out, they just have to believe it and go out and prove it. They have got to show that they are good players.”
