Kenny Lunt says that the club’s recruitment drive is well underway and the assistant manager believes it is imperative that we find the right characters to fit into the working environment that the management staff have worked hard to build.

Lunt is pleased that the club’s leading scorer last season, Mikael Mandron, has already committed his future and he is hoping that others that we have made offers to will follow suit. Manager, David Artell has been in constant dialogue with those players going out of contract this summer.

Lunt told the club’s official website: “We have already started where recruitment is involved and we know we have to recruit as well as we can and get the right players and characters into the club.

“It is important to have that and to continue the good work Dave and the rest of the staff have done with that especially over the last couple of seasons. We have Mikael signed and we hope more with follow but you just have to take each day as it comes because these things can always take time.

“The aim will be bring in better and make sure we look to improve. That is never easy when you lose good players but that is what we have to try and do.

“The players here are a year older and know the league now. It will be up to us to get more out of them next season and make sure they continue to push each other like they have done over the last couple of years.

He added: “If they can do and we can add a few more then there is no reason why we cannot be competitive in this league again.”
