Lunt: "Good To See Steve Back In The Dug-Out"

7 May 2021

Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager, Kenny Lunt says he is looking forward to the final test of the season against Shrewsbury Town this weekend.

Lunt is pleased that Steve Cotterill has come through a challenging fight against Covid-19 and he is looking forward to seeing the vastly experienced boss in opposition for the final game of the season.

Ahead of the final game at Gresty Road this Sunday, Lunt told crewealex.net: “Me and the gaffer went to watch Shrewsbury on Tuesday against Ipswich and they were both teams trying to win the game. I don’t think it will be any different this Sunday.

“We want to win the game and I am Steve and his staff will the same. It doesn’t matter if it is training or a five-a-side, you want to win and be competitive. That is why we are in professional football.

“Steve is a very experienced manager and he has a good staff and good players. It is already a tough game.

“It is good to see Steve back in the dug-out. He was in the stand on Tuesday and it’s good to have him back in the game. I am sure Shrewsbury missed his experience after he fell ill but the staff have done a good job and they quickly got safe.”
