David Artell says his Crewe Alexandra side have to learn the lessons of this season and become more ruthless in both boxes.
Not for the first time this season, the Railwaymen missed a number of chances against Bristol Rovers to have put the game to bed in the first half.
Callum Ainley scored the only goal of the game just before the 20th minute and that proved enough at the Memorial Stadium and although Artell never thought that the outcome was in any doubt, he was disappointed that we didn’t score more of the chances created.
Artell told crewealex.net: “The game on Saturday summed us up again. We didn’t score enough of our chances and put us out of sight.
“We haven’t scored enough goals and that is something we have to look to improve on. We need to keep the inventiveness and have that real bright play but take more of our chances.
“We have played well in the last two games. The whole game against Charlton and the first half at Bristol, especially. I think that playing to that level gives us the best chance of winning games and we have to take that into next season.”
