Ken says great to see Pixie and Pez make that step up to the Championship
Kenny Lunt says it is fantastic that the club have been able to sell two of our younger players to Championship clubs. Perry Ng joined Cardiff City in January and was quickly followed by his teammate Harry Pickering in the second tier when he signed for Blackburn Rovers.
Pickering returned to Crewe on loan until the end of the season and inherited the captain’s armband off Ng. Pixie will mark his final game for the club on Sunday against Shrewsbury.
Lunt says that the club’s production line continues to produce young players capable of making the step up.
Kenny told the club’s official website: “It’s been brilliant for them and for us to see two of our Academy graduates make that step up. It is one of the aims of the club to see our players go on and forge a good career for themselves.
“Harry and Pez have given everything for the clubs and they have deserved their moves. Hopefully there will be some here who will follow, be it in the long-term or the short term. Obviously as a management team we hope that will be longer term!
“The most important thing is that we also bring good people through and that certainly applies to those two lads. They deserve everything and I am sure they can kick on and improve.”
