Daniels & Offord Return To Training

16 March 2021

Defender boost as duo join in morning session.

Crewe Alexandra have been boosted with a return to training for defenders Donervon Daniels and Luke Offord. Both players have been involved in this morning’s early session.

Daniels has been struggling with a slight hamstring tweak sustained at Blackpool. Thankfully, the injury was not in the same muscle that had sidelined since October and after missing the last three games, the 27-year-old full-back has successfully resumed training.

Luke Offord has not featured since suffering a grade 3 hamstring tear against Bristol Rovers back in early January. The versatile defender has worked exceeding hard to return ahead of schedule, but boss David Artell says they will remain ‘cautious’ with him.

Artell told the club’s official website: “Luke has been out for a while now so we will have to take things easy with him. We don’t want him to suffer any sort of set-back but he has been running for a while now and can now join in training again.

“Donervon is a bit different. He has been out for 10 days or so and we will see how we get on with both of them.

He added: “Donervon tweaked his other hamstring, not the one that kept him out for a period time, so we are hopeful that he will be fine.”
