Lunt: "10 Games Left So Let's See Where That Can Take Us"

30 March 2021

Club's assistant manager wants to see where a mini late run could take us in regards to league finish.

Kenny Lunt is hoping that the club’s mini-break will assist us over the Easter period.

Crewe Alexandra face two very difficult games over the holiday period with league leaders, Hull City coming to Gresty Road on Friday. The Alex then have a tough trip to the MK Dons on Easter Monday.

The club’s assistant manager was out on scouting duty to watch the MK Dons over the weekend and was suitably impressed by their performance in their 1-0 home win over Doncaster Rovers.

Lunt told the club’s official website: “We have ten games left and it is time to knuckle down and try to win as many as we can. We will try and get points from all of them and see where that can take us.

“We want to finish as high as possible and if we can get enough points, then who knows.

“We have had a lot of games, so the Internationals last weekend has given the players the chance to rest. It does takes its toll playing Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday but it has been the same for everyone and that isn’t an excuse from us.

“It is a tough league and all the games are difficult. It takes a lot of effort to get anything from any game at this level. It is always a challenge and they don’t come any better in this league than Hull on Friday.”
