We Will Have To Be Right On The Mettle Against Jimmy's In-Form Brewers

In-form Burton looking to extend their fanatastic winning run under Dutchman Hasselbaink

Crewe Alexandra have endured a tough run of fixtures of late and David Artell has warned his squad that a fixture against an in-form Burton Albion side will be just as tough, if not tougher.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side have won their five matches and seven of their last eight to propel them out of danger and into 18th place.

David Artell’s Alex side will be aiming to end that run for the Brewers and keep our own play-off hopes alive.

Ahead of this weekend’s fixture at the Alexandra Stadium, Artell said: “Jimmy has come in and done a great job. There has been a massive turnaround in results and they have won five on the spin.

“It is probably their best run in recent history and that says a lot. They are top of the form table and rest assured this will be a tough game.

“We have had some tough games of late against Accrington, Blackpool, Sunderland, Lincoln and Doncaster but this match will be just as tough, if not the toughest because they are the team who are bang in form.

“It could be the hardest of the lot and we will have to be right on our mettle to get anything. If there is any complacency then we will be punished.

“Jimmy has transformed them again and there is always an added spice to it when they have Ben (Garratt) John Brayford and Luke Varney there. Murph (Luke Murphy) has also played for both clubs as well.

He added: “I have a lot of respect for Burton as a club. The two clubs have a mutual respect for each other on and off the pitch and they, like us, will be looking for three points this weekend.”
