Lunt says encouraging news from the Alex treatment room

Kenny Lunt has revealed that the club should be boosted with more players returning to full fitness in the next few weeks. The Alex have already welcomed back Callum Ainley from his hamstring injury and there is more good news that defender Luke Offord has been able to resume running again from a similar injury.

The Alex are also hopeful that midfield players, Josh Lundstram and Oli Finney are progressing in the right direction and are on target to appear again before the end of the season.

Full-back Donveron Daniels, who was withdrawn as a precaution against Blackpool after feeling tightness in his hamstring, is progressing well and is running freely again.

Kenny told the club’s official website: “We are hoping that others will follow Callum and will be back with us sooner rather than later. Those that are still in the physio room are progressing really well, they are all mates and pushing each other along.

“I think that helps. It is better for all of them when there is someone else to work with, talk to and is going through the same sort of things as you. It helps lifts their spirits and I think it is important.

“When you are on the way back, it is nice to have someone with you and not have to do all on your own and see all the other lads go out to train.

Kenny added: “It is part of football and the lads are progressing well. We hope that a couple more of them are not too far away now and hopefully in the next few weeks we could be having them back and that will make the managers’ job even harder when he is selecting his squad of 18.”
