Following a 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers this evening, David Artell told the club’s official website that he felt it was it was as ‘comfortable a 1-0 win as you can get’.
Mikael Mandron scored the only goal of the game to make it 11 games unbeaten at home. A pleased Alex manager told the club’s official website: “I thought it was a deserved victory. If anyone was going to win the game it was us. I never thought that ‘we got away with one there.’ It was a comfortable 1-0 win as you can get.
“I cannot remember them having many chances and they didn’t open us up.
“We create a lot of chances in the first half and only some last ditch defending prevented us from scoring more than the one we did.
“We finally got the goal and then after that I thought we were professional in the way we dealt with it.
“It was two good football teams and I don’t think we were the far better team but we were the better team on the night.
“I didn’t know we were unbeaten at home in 11 games until someone told me, but that is a good run and we have to keep it going. We have made it a tough place to come, it was a tough place to come last season and we have to maintain it and improve our results away.
He added: “We can forgive the lads for having a bad game and they were out of sorts performance from us. We weren’t at the races at Lincoln but the lads bounced back well. They don’t tend not to lose games on the bounce and we told them that before the game.”
