Boss says Ainley came through first under-23s test unscathed
David Artell has told the club’s official website that Callum Ainley is ‘coming along great’ following his return to competitive action for the club’s Under-23s. Ainley played just over 65 minutes of the club’s 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic on Wednesday as he marked his return from a hamstring injury.
The attacking midfielder has been out since suffering the injury in the early minutes of our FA Cup tie at Cheltenham back in late November.
Artell told the club’s official website: “Callum played 65-70 minutes in the week and came through unscathed. He did fine.
“His football brain has been in the cupboard for a few months now, so that is to be expected but he came through physically with no problems and he is coming along great.”
