Boss: 'We Have To Be Ruthless To Get Where We Want To Be'

10 to go and Artell targets clinical edge

David Artell has challenged his Crewe Alexandra side to become ‘absolute ruthless’ in the remaining 10 games of the season.

The Alex are listed fourth in League One for the most chances created and Artell says that if we had been more clinical in certain matches, we would have accumulated more points than we have.

Crewe host league leaders Hull City on Friday aiming to win and get closer to the top six.

Artell told the club’s official website: “I am aware of the stat that we are fourth for the most chances created in League One and that is a brilliant stat for us.

“Now if we can take the majority of those chances we create in the last 10 games then we have a great chance of winning more games.

“We would certainly have had more points than we have if we had taken some more of our chances. That is all about should of, could of and maybes and all we can do is focus on the next ten games and make sure we are ruthless.

“If we are and we can score more goals then we have every chance.

He added: “We have the best test of the lot on Friday, because we have the league leaders coming to our stadium. It will be another big test for us, but if know that if we perform like we can, then is no reason why we cannot get a result against them. That is the challenge.”
