David Artell says that he and his staff will go the DVD of Saturday’s disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Burton Albion in great detail with his squad this morning. Following a rare home loss, the Crewe Alexandra boss was left seething over the entire performance.
Crewe were 3-0 down at half time thanks to Kane Hemmings’ hat-trick and Artell told his players in no uncertain terms that the display was unacceptable.
The Alex boss told the club’s official website: “We will go through the video and put the game behind us this morning. I couldn’t do that yesterday as I was on a course.
“Saturday was unacceptable and it is my job to tell them. Sometimes you have to be blunt in that and they needed to be told. We will go through the game again, give them the pointers and try and help them.
He added: “We had 73% of the possession in the first half and were 3-0 down, so that tells a story. There was a lot wrong with Saturday on a lot of levels and we have to learn from it.”
