Another Big Club Arriving In Doncaster Rovers

9 March 2021

Lunt says the focus has to be on high level of performance if we are to bounce back against Doncaster this evening.

Kenny Lunt says that the management team at the club have told the players to focus on their level of performance and the results will take care of themselves.

The Railwaymen will be aiming to bounce back from Saturday below par performance at Lincoln City, which resulted in a 3-0 defeat at Sincil Bank and Lunt says that the arrival of Doncaster this evening is the perfect tonic to quickly erase that frustration.

Ahead of tonight’s game at the Alexandra Stadium, Kenny told us: “It is another game to really look forward to. It is a home game against another big club in this league.

“We have had a tough run of fixtures and this will be another one. This is why we worked so hard last year to get into this league and play teams like Doncaster again.

“The performances have generally been good bar Saturday (at Lincoln). We possibly should have more points than we have got out of those games against Accrington, Sunderland and Blackpool. We conceded late goals against Sunderland and Swindon.

“If we keep putting a high level of performance in, then the results usually come. That is what we tell the players.

“Doncaster are a good side and we have of respect for them but we cannot be afraid of them. We have to focus on performing like we had been doing before Saturday when we didn’t test their goalkeeper enough.”
