David Artell says you have to take each fixture as it comes after his side were handed some long away trips in the first month of the season. After starting with Cheltenham Town at home on 7th August, the Railwaymen have away trips to Portsmouth and Oxford before again travelling to London to face Charlton at the end of August.
Crewe have also been drawn away at Hartlepool United in the first round of the Carabaro Cup.
Artell told the club’s official website: “We have Cheltenham at home and then start travelling the length and breath of the country again. We have some trips coming up in the first month of the season but we have to play them all at some point, so you just have to get on with it.
“We know how tough the league is after last season and there are some big clubs in this league, who shouldn’t be at this level but they are. There are a few who have had trouble getting out of it and that just goes to show how competitive it is.
“We will respect whoever we play but we won’t fear them. It is a good league and we want to be as competitive as we can be. We will prepare right and give everyone a game.”
